Finally got it working...

For anyone that is interested here is what I did:

1. My setup:
1 good 27 inch dell monitor 1920 x 1200
2 crappy dell 19inch 1280 x 1024
1 sweet 295 GTX card
1 crappy 9600GT card

2. got latest Softth http://www.kegetys.net/dl.php/SoftTH109b_rc1.zip
Copy softth files into LFS directory
d3d8.dll
d3d9.dll
SoftTH_hook.dll
SoftTH.cfg

Edited the Softth text file

(you can change it for different combinations of resolutions)
Note: It works best if your side monitors are the same resolution.

3. got patch z18 http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=62209

4. Setup LFS options
diplay -> to use the bottom most setting (should be your combined width, like 4480)

FPS - With all the settings on absolute max quality (16xAF, 8xAA, max res) I get about 12.5.
With no AA and AF and middle settings I get about 35-60, which is pretty playable.

Track IR - do you mean head tracking? I dont have that.

The complete FOV is 217, with 90 in the main screen. I have the side screens as if they are looking out at 90%, also I just discovered the bezel setting which lets you get sync the view as if things were behind the joining edges of the monitors.

Cards - the 295 GTX is running the main 1920 x 1200 display. It is also set as the rendering card in the Nvidia settings. The way softth works it doesnt matter too much what the second card is (as long as it is PCexpress), I have the two side monitors connected to the 9600GT.

Can you run a 4th screen and use it to see what's going on behind you?

Not sure if Softth can do more than 3, you may need to get something like ATI eyeinfinity.

On another note, interestingly I install the latest nvidia CUDA driver (which is older than the main nvidia driver) and my frame rate improved a little... go figure :?
